Breakfast Briefing

Former Joele Frank execs launch new PR firm. Called Collected Strategies and based in New York, the independent advisory firm launched on Sunday. It aims to support clients with financial communications, media relations and stakeholder engagement strategies, according to a statement. Its founding partners include former Bloomberg reporter Ed Hammond, along with former Joele Frank staffers Nick Lamploug, Dan Moore, Scott Bisang, Jim Golden and Jude Gorman, who was previously Joele Frank's chief operating officer.

The latest on Instagram's Twitter rival Threads. The Meta-owned app has already surpassed 100 million users, after launching last Wednesday. Until now, OpenAI's ChatGPT bot was one of the fastest-growing consumer products. Meanwhile, Twitter's traffic is "tanking," according to CloudFlare CEO Matthew Prince. Twitter owner Elon Musk is not taking the news well. On Sunday night, Musk challenged Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg to "a literal dick measuring contest," after tweeting roughly 9 hours earlier, "Zuck is a cuck."

Happening today. President Joe Biden is meeting with King Charles III for the first time since he was crowned in May. They will host a forum focused on how to encourage private companies to engage in more clean energy efforts. This morning, Biden met with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to discuss global issues, such as the war in Ukraine.

In other Biden news, here's a peek at his internal management style. While Biden whispers to make a point in public, he is prone to yelling in private. Current and former Biden aides who have witnessed and been on the receiving end of his outbursts told Axios that his temper comes in the form of angry interrogations rather than erratic tantrums.

What else is going on? New York Times sports staff sends letter demanding answers on future with The Athletic; Sarah Silverman and two novelists sue Meta, OpenAI for alleged copyright infringement; FDA asked to investigate energy drink Prime.
